  • Monroe Pavilion under construction - Brings our first large-scale grocer to town with a full-shopping complex (Publix, Five Below, ULTA Beauty, etc.)
  •  Worked with GDOT to finalize their commitment to the long-awaited truck route to alleviate traffic through our downtown.
  •  Through the direct actions of Mayor and Council, the stance taken of personal freedom and responsibility over heavy-handed dictates and mandates, our town saw a 22% increase in sales tax revenues DURING the middle of a global pandemic.
  •  We have adapted our events to meet the needs and desires of the public (All while addressing safety measures (social distancing, sanitizing, masks)!
  •  To limit sprawl and encourage infill development, we have capped sewer at the city limits.
  •  To assist in the efforts of quality growth, hosted the Young Gamechangers and Incremental Development Alliance.
  •  Began Fiber to the Home Project to enhance quality of life for students (home-learning), professionals (work from home), and families (streaming, multiple devices).
  •  Through our Downtown Development Authority, saw new construction expand our downtown to the East, West, and South using the Revolving Loan Fund to build and renovate Silver Queen, John's Supermarket, and LR Burger, to name a few.
  •  Have overseen a double-digit reduction in crime leading to Monroe becoming one of the 50 safest cities in the state.
  •  Purchased Blaine Station and moved Police Department and Municipal Courts to a more-suitable location; in the master-plan  stages for the balance of the site. 
  •  While property values continue to climb due to desirability, we have lowered or rolled back property-taxes every year.
  •  We have also worked with property owners to repair, remove, or donate blighted properties, thus allowing cleaner, safer, more efficient rentals.
 
At the beginning of my term, I committed to upgrading our parks. Our enhanced social infrastructure is another step to "Live here, Work here, Play here". It enhances livability and joy for ALL families from ALL walks of life.

​Park Update:  
  • Purchased Property for Future Downtown Green - construction (splash pad, amphitheater, fountain, bathrooms) begins in November
  • Pilot Park - total renovation (awaiting bathrooms)
  • Mathews Park - renovation underway
  • Hammond Park - Planning Phase
  • Built the relationship and encouraged donation of Reliant River Park (planning phase), which is 123 acres along the Alcovy River.
 I love our town! I will do everything in my power to serve every man, woman, and child to make Monroe a better place for our future. I appreciate the opportunity.
